things to ask when buying?
i saw one for sale today and was looking into a new purchase. from looks, it looks mint. are there any typical problems with these cars? ( i think it was an s500 , it was debadged and i didnt have the camera with me since i just got back from vacation. went to take the car out for a spin to see if everything was still working fine.) what are the costs to fix the common things? i know to ask the mileage..whats wrong with it, test drive if i am thinking of buying. and what would the price range of one of these be? lastly , how reliable are these cars?
*edit* i found out it was 1997 s500 with 81000 miles, supposedly nothing is wrong with the car

1) Carfax
2) Take the VIN to your dealership and ask to see if they have any records
3) Put the car on a lift and inspect for any fluid leaks from the drivetrain or suspension
4) Test drive the car thorougly: inspect for proper transmission kick down, any abnormal noises from the engine/suspension, steering, etc.
