At 130k miles I just took on a 1400 mile trip and am always amazed with this car. With three people it pulled every hill. Handleing at high speeds was awesome. With all the threads I've seen on the maintanance cost of the S-class I keep expecting something major to go wrong. I look forward to many years and miles in this car.
By the way... Saw my first Mayback here in Phoenix Friday. Looks better up close than the pix in the dealership. Oh to be that wealthy

Congrats, the w140 is like a vault on the highway.

The S320/S420 lack some of the expensive electronics, making maintenance much easier and less costly.

W140 is a solid solid solid car. Grew up with several of them (91 93 95 98 model yrs if I remember correctly). Rare today, but still out there. Saw a 600 in the post office parking lot and it was in brand new (literally) condition (prob stored, but very nice automobile). Recently, I saw a 420 for sale (94 model as I recall) and it had about 250,000 miles on it and was still running strong. Believe or not, I wasn't surprised. The W140 was an expertly crafted tank, still is, and will remain as one of MB's best built models.
