Factory Options?

Factory Options?
I'm planning to buy a W140 shortly, but I'm trying to figure out the differences between the models (other than the engine size)... I think the 320 doesn't come with the long wheelbase, so I'm desiding between the 420, 500, or 600.
If anyone could explain or has a list of the differences interior wize between the models I'd appreciate that. I was told the 500 and 600 have all options (like power rear seats? that would be fun), and the 420 basically doesn't come with much more than a basic setup.
Logically the 600 would have the most features, but if the 500 really does have the same stuff, then I'd go with the 500. I don't really need a V12
Thank you for your time.

S320 can be long wheel base and short wheel base. But I think all the others after about 94 were long. Also with the exception of the 600 all the other models can have the same options it was a matter of the buyer choosing what they wanted. Generally speaking a 300 or 320 rather would have less. However there are some higher spec S320s out there. I have the power rear seats and some stuff that people with 420 and 500 do not have in mine. But the 600 was pretty much fully loaded and then there were some 600s that were even more fully loaded. With independent rear seats and a fridge etc.
Hope that helps.

The 500 and 600 have burl wood, the 600 has more of it, the 3 nd 4 have zebrano. The 5, and 6 have electric rear seats and electic headrests, 3 and 4 would have manual up and vacuum down. The 6 would have individual heat and cool for the back seat, and had a two seat option with a console. The 6 also had ADS on all four wheels, the 5 had self leveling rear, I dont think the 3 had it

I'm not sure where you are writing from, but there were different options on non-US cars.
I have a 10 year old S320 (pics on picture thread). The six cylinder engine gets great mileage and the car is a great highway cruiser. My partner has a 1998 S320 LWB- the long wheel base has headlamp wipers and the SWB doesn't. Both cars have been trouble free.
The key is to find a low mileage car that has been taken care of. I imagine that as the engines get bigger the repair bills do also.

and a German pricelist from 1996 which lists the options and which
ones is standard in which model (do not give up because it is German... Try first!)

Headlight Wipers
Headlight wiper fitment does not respect wheelbase. I have a 1995 S320 SWB with headlight wipers and a 1998 S320 SWB model without them. The '95 has a metal sunroof while the '98 model has a (tinted) glass one. The '98 also has side (door) air bags and different alloy wheels. In the '95 model the interior rear view mirror is adjusted elctrically, in the later models it is manual. Also the remote unlock is signaled in the door handles while in the '98 the lights flash.

I have a 92 500, it has burlwood, telephone (?), CD, self leveling, close assist and rear view mirror (interior and exterior) tied to seat position and electrically adjustable, seat heaters, the moon roof is glass, and has fender indicators.
The 600 has either bench or four seat rear seating, most have the electric window shade in the rear window, wood trim on the rear seat vanity mirrors and ash tray covers, rear seat air conditioning, ADS, in addition to everything else. The engine is two 300s if you think about it, and the service bulletins address such.
