shimy at 60 mph and hard ride in the rear

My s500 has a shimmy at 60 MPH and it rides HARD in the rear. (as if struts or shocks are bad) any ideas and ho about cost?

Also the other S320 AC does not work, is it any inexpensive way to fix AC

The signs of bad accumulators are a songey ride , and the a hard ride as all the nitrogen bleeds off, the reservoir should be low. If the struts leak they are bad, if they dont they are probably still good.
The AC on 140s is complex, there are many sensors and controls. If there is a leak the compressor wont come on, I hope you are not a victim of the 140 evaporator failure, it is a $5000 fix at MB, the dash comes out of the car, and most of the time they replace hoses filters and seals. Just dont have anyone do the repair, my local dealer has a couple of guys who have done it many times!

AC compressor

IF the ac compressor comes on, then what about a leak. For instance when I last filled the AC it lasted about a month.

You have a leak somewhere in the system. There are some stop leak products that you can add to the AC system. But, as is often the case, there is the cheap way to fix a problem, and then there is the right way.

Thanks Brett

Nice to hear from a trusted member. I now work in Solana Beach. My mechanic doesnt do AC. Can you recommend someone reliable to diagnose and possibly fix this issue. Why have a car like this if you cant enjoy it?

All the best

Evaporator failure

I spoke to a mechanic who informed me that it is probably the evacuator failure! But I do not have thousands to fix it. Any suggestions?'

The sealants also can gunk up the system, a good shop can fill the system and use a sniffer or dye, the rest is unpedictable
