500SEL stiff rear suspension, squeeking
I bought this baby brand new in 1992. It has 230,000 miles on it, and I only have 2 issues with it. I have a leaky evaporator, but don't use the car often enought to justify fixing it, and a stiff squeeky suspension in the rear end.
I have replaced both cumulators in the rear, and see no signs of any leaking in the rear struts, but when I hit a bump, it seems very stiff, and the slightest movement up and down in the rear end (even getting in and out of the car) squeeks like crazy on the left strut area. I lubed all of the bushings in the control arms, and tried lubing every place that I thought could squeek, but have had no luck in solving the problem.
Any ideas?

Struts could be shot. One of mine made a creaky noise. Had to be replaced. Do you have the ADS system? If so, it could be defaulted to FIRM mode.

Yes, I do have the ADS, and it makes sense that it is defaulting to "Firm" mode. How can I change it?
