Lost Remote Key to 1993 500SEL

Hi,

Lost it, the remote key. Still have the non-remote key so I can lock and drive but I miss my remote features.

Any suggestions about getting a replacement remote?

Cheap?

A). Did you replace the battery?
B). Go to dealer and buy a new one...my replacement cost me $180.

I have not replaced the battery, just plain lost the key. Turns out, it was on th driver's seat wedged between the seat and back cushions.

I had looked behind the seat because I thought it would fall through and onto the floor. Things can't do that with this model's seat design.

I didn't realize it before but losing that key really made me upset, so much so that paying $300 to replace it was my next step and I even had tried to get a replacement key but was ignored by the dealer's parts department after I called them. Now, I know I will be ten times more careful about where I leave it. At home, always in exactly the same spot from now on.
