the a/c has a funky smell,i had it charged a week ago now its not as cold ?any one have any sugestions. 2,when i drove on the hwy. if there was a dip the rear part of the car sounded like the drive shaft or something was grinding against the chasis? again any help would be welcome.

Steve, there is a drain tub for condensation that have been know to clog on other cars I've owned that caused a bad smell. Never has that with my Benz however but may be worth checking. I would be more concerned about the grinding noise. I f you are a DIY guy check the flex disk that connects the ends of you drive shaft. They get brittle and start braking away. Also may be the wheel bearings. ( not a DIY thing) Find it, fix it before it costs a lot. Sorry I can’t tell you.

There is a common problem with the transmission tunnel sound deadening pad breaking away from the underbody and rubbing on the driveshaft. I've seen more than one person say that they heard the grinding only on left hand turns. I would check this out. If not that, just look for anything that may be hanging down and contacting the driveshaft or the half shafts.

My S320 has a worn front flex disc...I found that out when I took it into the dealer for it's first LOF on Tuesday. They said that was the cause of that squeak sound that I hear when I put it into reverse. I think they quoted me somewhere between $350 and $450 to have it replaced.
