600sel transmission help
hi i have a 600sel 92 it shifts in over drive after [4] gear at a 120 km is that normail becouse i got this car 4 months a go and its drinks a lot of gas becouse i drive in the city the rpm are high becouse its in 3 rd gear all the time the only time it gets in over drive is on the high way and i have to be care ful becouse 120km big ticket so please tell me if thats how all the 600's do or do i have a problem .with a full tank i get 160 or if i am very luckey 170 milles thats nothing so please help me

my mercedes is my pocketFirst check and confirm transmission fluid level, any brunt smell to the fluid.
Any repairs done to the car lately, No OD in that transmission 4th is 1: 1 ratio. Check for a stuck on kick down switch under the gas pedal, Black plastic round piece, push the switch down with your hand it should move and CLICK, when released should return to its off position.
Next possibilities, out of adjustment/ stuck, Bowden cable/ Transmission throttle pressure cable located in the engine compartment on the throttle linkage.

i changed transmission oil
i already changed the transmission oil thats all .before the second gear used to shift late i played with the adjustment now thats better then before. only the over drive you have a 600sel if yes please tell me how it shifts gear like the 1 gear at how many rpm the 2 second gear how many rpm 3 gear how many rpm and the 4 gear what speed does your hit before its in over drive i think my car start off in 2 seconed gear becouse its goes from 2 seconed to 3 gear first the its goes to over drive arter its hit 120 km/h the 2 gears
