I bought a used 2000 S500. The audio system turns on but there is no sound coming out of the system. The original owner had removed the CD changer.

He had nor been driving the car. The battery died on this and I had to Jump start. The owner mentioned that there is a code which has be be unlocked since the battery.

I want to see if I can find some help to trouble shoot this instead of going to the dealer.

Sorry your in the wrong forum you want the W220 S class. However if it is the code the dealer is the only place to get it I think it's free just show proof of ownership and the VIN and they can look it up for you.
