I'm thinking of selling my 99 S500 Grand Ed
I'm "thinking" of selling my 99 S500 Grand Edition w/88K miles and I need some suggestions about a selling price. Any suggestions are welcome. The car is in excellent shape and I've maintained her quite well.
I went to Luxury Motors today in Oakland, CA and was considering to trade her in for a 2003 CL500 and the dealership only wanted to give me $8K...!!
Of course I said no and walked away. So I'm thinking of maybe posting on Ebay or Craigslist. Do you think asking for at least $18K is too much?

15,00 man or 16 18,000 might be to much the market is not good right now..i'd keep it, that s500 will outlast any cl500 anyday anytime..those just don't build em the same anymore

Assuming you have the standard equipment with no additional options and the car is in perfect condition, it "books" for around $15k selling it private party. Trade-in value is around $11k and in todays market trying to sell it private party for $15k may take a long, long time. If you don't want the hassle of trying to sell it private party, trade it in and be done with it or just keep it.

Not a Great Market Right Now
I have the same car with about 69K miles here in the San Diego area. I shopped it around here and I maybe could get 13K is I was lucky. That was three months ago. For a car that cost 92K originally, I think I'll enjoy the ride and keep it at home.

U will be crying after that, don't sell it. It is THE BEST Benz ever...period. If u give the car to your dealer in 24 hours it will be for sale on the lot for at least 15K....DON'T

Sorry, I just sold it this past weekend unexpectedly. Traded her in for 2002 CL55. She was a magnificent beast and I truly loved her but it was time for me to move on.
