S500 vs RSX type S
Which car would win a race, and Rsx type S or an S500. My friend says his car is faster 0-60 and quarter mile, but what i have read does not agree. Anyone have any experience with these cars?

Wrong category
You cannot race an S class no matter if it is S280, 320, 420, 500 or 600 with any car from acura, lexus or infinity. These cars are called 'rice cars' Their role model is mercedes and bmw.
You are talking about racing an RSX with an S500? Do you know an S500 is not a race car? It is a world class luxury sedan with a powerful engine to be run on highways not racetracks.
RSX cannot be compared with any mercedes vehicle no matter if it is the C class or the S class. Period.

The S500 should win. The MB brochure (which is usually conservative) states 0-60 in 6.1 seconds. The best time for the RSX (at least that I have seen) is 6.3 seconds, in Car & Driver.
The RSX driver would have to leave the line perfectly and pop off every gear perfectly to be close, which is unlikely.
But I agree (mostly) with ///S320 - it's goofy to even compare them - the S500 is not a racer and doesn't even pretend to be.
Neither Car & Driver nor Road & Track have performance numbers for the S500, which indicated that they do not consider it a "race car" either.

S600 Coupe. 560SEC, E55
Who cares if it's a race car or not. I have a lot of fun smoking rice-boys in my S600 Coupe. They have no clue that a big old Mercedes will kick their ***.

no, no, no. DO not race the RSX of any type. The S500 is a regal and stately machine. The RSX is a street car.Just smile back and decline the offer. regardless of who is faster, we know which is the better car. And if you do race, and lose, beware, you'll hear the ranting from this chap for the rest of your life, and will feel silly about your lovely car. The S500 is a Battle wagon designed for eating miles and miles of asphalt. not hit and run.

I think this is the W140 forum right? So you're talking about a pre-1998 or 99 S500.
That generation S500 does 0-60 in 7.2 seconds... NOT 6.1. The older S600 should get to 60 in 6.1 secs. If the RSX is under 7 seconds, you won't beat him, unless he sucks at driving a manual transmission.
Either way... if you want to race, go for it and have fun. =)
Just be safe. hehe.

My two cents is race him! After he beats you 0-60. Then, tell him to race you 60 and step. That is, start the race at 60mph. That's when the S500 comes alive. Oh and when your doing 130 and you are still comfortable enough to use your cell phone you could call him while he bounces around in your wind tunnel. Oh yeah, don't forget to race him with three of your friends in the car!

I would never turn down a race for fun. If you know the guy and you just want to see which car is faster, have fun. I raced an Audi TT with my ML430 and had him up to 85 mph. Then he finially passed me. LOL. I also race rice boys at stop lights with my cl600, thats if my S500 cant take em. And if all else fails i pull out my single turbo supra. But usually they wont even race that.
