Photo of CD Changer in Trunk

I have a CD changer for my S420. Can someone confirm if this is a straight plug-in (it looks like it is) with no wiring. Also, if someone can post pictures of how they have it mounted, and what is the best place for it, I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance.

Im sorry, i have no pic but yes its straight plug-in. The location for the CD changer should be one left side where there is a small space for it.

I just bought acd changer on ebay, but I can not find where the wire is to plug into the changer and I am not exactly sure how to mount the unit.

Does it go in indent on the left side of the trunk floor?

How is it attched?

Where is the wire hidden?

Thanks for any help.

CD Changer

On my 92 the CD sits in the well, there are three cables, one is a power "Y", the other plugs into a cable you remove from the tuner that sits over the rear wheel and plugs into the CD and the third, comes back from the CD and plugs back into the tuner. This is a Becker Silverstone 10CD

My setup is like this. When you pop open the trunk, to your left, there is a deeper area for the CD Changer to go. If you lift up the trunk mat, you'd see the screw holes for the bracket, that's where the CD Changer is mounted. If not, you could mount it in the trunk anywhere that seemed good to you. In my 560SEL, I mounted it right behind the rear seats in the trunk. It's an Alpine CD Changer and probably the same as the Mercedes one because their magazines are identical. In fact, I am using the MB magazine to play music in the Alpine.

I used the information found http://www.redshift.com/~msaylor/be980cd.htm
to install my CD player.... it has pictures and MB part numbers for cables.

This blue paper chronicles the installation of a10 disk CD changer (OEM) in a 1992 Mercedes Benz 300CE with a Becker 1432 two part system "pre-wired" for an integrated cellular phone and CD changer. This installation is probably typical for other years and models but I can not guarantee it. I've learned a lot and want to share my new found knowledge in hopes you won't have to go through what I did. If you have all the parts & pieces before you begin, it is a two - three hour job.

Thanks for the tips, but I decided against a changer in the trunk, and got a new Kenwood head unit CD playes instead. Performance and looks are much better than stock.
