1994 S320 (W140)
W140 Vacuum Pump Repair

I have a 1994 S320 and the other day the door locks stopped opening and closing with the door lock button. I can no longer open or lock the driver side door with the alarm key button either instead I have to open and lock the driver side doors with my key. What is going on? This car never has given me problems I just want to know what it is I need to do to fix this. If I can find a home remedy (easy way to fix it) thats fine but if I have to buy a part Im willing to do this too. Any kind of help u can give me is appreciated!

The lock-unlock pump is under the rear passenger seat in a foam container, it also controls the lumbars, back up rods, supplementary vacuum for the HVAC, door, trunk, and gas door.
There is not a whole lot of info on it, as opposed to the close asist system. The pump provides pressure to unlock vacuum to lock, pressure to the lumbars, vacuum to the HVAC consumers. If you have checked the obvious fuses, and hear no sounds coming from it, the answer is replace. There really are no sources for parts but they are available rebuilt.

Is it possible for the vacuum line(s) leading from the lock-unlock pump be bad?
