300SE wont Reverse when engine is warm
The cars tranny will not go into reverse if the engine is warm or hot but all other gears work fine. It only works when its cool. Someone said change the Intermediate plate as there was a MB bulletin on this problem. My dad just changed that today and now none of the gears will shift. Very strange. Any help is appreciated.

I have a 95 S320 with exact same problem. I was wondering if you were able to find a solution to your problem? If so would you please share your knowledge with me.

Well we changed the Intermediate plate due to some advice of one of the guys. It did not work and I posted in Benzworld. The guy got nasty after that saying we dont know what we are doing. My dads a mechanic. So we took the car to a Mercedes transmission shop. Turns out whoever touched it last did not rebuild it properly as the transmission is missing 2 valves and the 3rd gear. So those parts are being ordered right now. Not sure how we made it so far without a 3rd gear and 2 valves. Someone screwed up when they worked on the tranny last at the dealer. But it has been so long we can get them to pay for anything.

I have also been trying to find out some information regarding this issue and came across the website below. I don't know if it is a solution for your exact problem but they do have some suggestions on what to look for and do.

Thats what I changed. No go...anyways the transmission shop ordered the parts from Germany. Hopefully this still fix this fiasco.
