92 600sel conversion to 350diesel
am looking to purchase mint s600sel 1992 and convert to 350diesel, what is involved, has anyone done it and is it worth the hassle, can buy car for 2k has only 140km on it

Do you ahve a factory new 3.5 crate motor or are you going to put a potential "rod bender" in it? If you want a W140 diesel you might consider dropping in a 3.0L 603 instead. The 3.5 head and IP bolt up and increase fuel supply slightly.

hmm don't have motor yet just thinking and looking to see if anyone done it....can get the s600 for bout 1500 only 140km on it...any idea what the cost would be and what else is needed..thnx

Do a search here on "rod bender". Is considered by most to have been the worst engine ever produced by MB.
Go to peachparts.com and search SIXTO(s) posts. He did the 3.0L swap when his 3.5L went bad.
