S280 is a Europe/Asian spec W140. It was never sold in the US.

There is no need for him to go to C class forum.

Hello:

I have an S320 1994. All I would like to know is how do you get to the spark plugs once you have taken the cover off. I would think that it is a easy thing to do in most cars, but in this one I do not have a clue once you get to the coils. Thank you.

Thank you S320!

I am going to try to change them. However, I am a bit concerned about just pulling the coil. Last time it seemed to me that there was something holding it and I saw a small screw in each of the coils (3). I am very worried about damaging anything else while I do this and would like to verify that the coils just need to be pulled off and that there is not anything else holding them in place. Thank you for the information and I hope to hear from you soon.

Actually i never changed the plugs myself. The engine bay is desinged in such way that it discourages the owner to put finger in wrong places. I think if you are not confident to do, as i was, take it to dealer and pay $100. Plugs will last you another atleast 50K miles.

Good luck

Hello S320!

I did it!. I have to admit that it looks a bit intimidating but it is fairly easy to do, it just takes some patience. I used for the most part the tool that comes wit the car, but I had to use wrench for the plug that is next to the fire wall. All the coils are plug in, so you just have to pull them. Thank you very much for the previous information and good luck with your car.
