The ability to open the windows is only designed as a "safety measure" related to the ability to close them.

From the owner's manual regarding closing the windows with the remote:
In case the closing procedure causes potential danger, the closing procedure can be immediately reversed by releasing and pressing the remote control button again until the green indicator lamps at the receivers blink. The sliding/pop-up roof and windows will open again. The sliding/pop-up roof will only open if it was not fully closed.

From the owner's manual regarding closing the windows with the key:
In case the closing procedure causes potential danger, the closing procedure can be immediately reversed by turning the key to the unlocking position within 10 seconds. The sliding/pop-up roof and windows will open again. The sliding/pop-up roof will only open if it was not fully closed.

I think the 10 second rule also applies to the remote-triggered process.

What I seem to remember is it only applies to the windows that were being closed during the closing procedure.
