1984 300SD W126 & 1992 300SD W140
92 300SD W140 Radio/cluster/ F/E
As an owner of an 84 300SD I may have made a mistake to think the W126 longevity and hardiness could pass on to other .
I bought a 92 300SD on a W140 chassis. It has 181k mi on it and was traded by the original owner in June 2010 for a new car. It has extensive dealer maintenance records with original dealer invoice for new block at 45kmi. Many other things along the way were repaired/replaced or maintained.
Question: Does the following sound familiar to anyone? I have scratchy speakers, when I engage the indicator I see a momentary flash and flick of the gauges on the cluster, the battery will die out after about 3 days and requires constant charging. All other electrical items work
Also a little vibration on the front end - maybe out of balance tires.
Does anyone have any ideas on the electrical.
