The way the system works is, there is a tandem mounted pump with the power steering pump. There is hydraulic fluid from the fender mounted reservoir which is sent to a valve on the rear axle housing, the fluid is then sent to a accumulator (sphere which is filled with nitrogen) which is also in line with the hydraulic strut (shock look alike) as the valve opens oil is sent to the strut, the valve is hooked up to the rear torsion bar. There are possible issues, bad accumulators where the diaphram has failed, a defective valve, or a bad strut (very rare). or a bad pump (vary rare). The arm to the vave is adjustable.
