My 1997 S320 starts up, runs for 1 second the dies. I towed the car home. The next day it started up OK but would cough and sputter when the gas pedal was pushed. I changed the fuel filter, which was plugged. Now the engine starts runs for 1 second then dies again. Any suggestions.

Like the diesel models they have a tank screen.Some how junk made its way to the other filter.I'd suspect tank screen if fuel does not come out before filter.
