96 S320 transmission issues~ help
Gents. I have searched the forums as well as the internet for my specific issue, but to no avail.
Here is the issue. If I start off in drive the transmission seems to hesitate or jumps around in gears trying to get going. I start off in second and manually shift through the gears and it seems to be fine, but when shifting manually through the gears it seems to slip in between gears until it finally gets in the next gear then its fine. Once in gear the transmission does not slip at all, even under a full throttle load up a hill, it still does not slip at all.
The other issue is it does not want to kick down no matter how hard the gas pedal is depressed. But again when in drive it keeps wanting to down shift on its own.
On another weird note... one morning I got in the car and there was no reverse at all. Car would not move. A couple days later I tried reverse again and it worked flawlessly.
I have changed the fluid and no change at all even after adding some Lucas transmissin stop slip. I just orderes a filter and wanted to try that next. But before I do I wanted to see if any of you gents had any idea of what may be going on. It seems to be electrical to me but I don't have much expirience with these transmissions.
