S320 - Very odd symptoms

Hi,

Im having some very odd issues with my s320 and was hoping someone might be able to shed some light.

Last week I went out for a drive and felt some juddering through the transmission when I was stopped at traffic signals or very low speed. The next day I went to start the car and it had a rough/shaking idle. I drove it round the block and the roughness wouldn't smooth out till about 2500rpm. With something obviously wrong, I parked it up and decided to sleep on the problem. The next morning I went out to start the car, it was idling fine! However, as soon as I put it into drive the roughness and shaking came back. I put the transmission into parking and the roughness remained.

Im a bit baffled to say the least and I'm hoping that someone with more experience could offer some advice.

Thanks in advance

Mike

I would check plugs, wires, and coils. It sounds like the tranny jerks the motor causing a plug wire to get lose maybe. If that don't fix problem, try some MAF cleaner and clean the MAS or MAF

Cheers oldsinner, probably an ignition problem then? Will have a good look when im home from work. Also I hadn't thought about the MAF, but it's all interconnected isn't it.
