I need to replace the rear Window regulator on my 97 S420. Can someone give me instructions on how to do this?
Thanks

Window regulator

You do not need special tools, just patience. I just didboth rears on my 96. Order them online, they r about 50 bucks. The hard part is removing the wood panel behind the handle to get to the screws. Search here or on benzworld for rear door removal. To get the regulator out you will need to drill out 5 rivets. Replacing the regulator will require riveting the regulator back in or using nut/bolts. I ordered new rivets when I ordered my regulators and learned how to use a rivet tool. Overall it's not too bad, the first time takes about 1-2 hrs, I can remove the door in 10 min now. Good luck, it's definitely doable.
