Problem with wipers (interval mode) - combination switch / relay / Wiper relay
I have a 1995 S600 W140. I have problems with the wipers. Nothing happens when I turn combination switch to position I (interval). When measuring the signal input to the N10 (combination relay) N10: 1.1 I get (for positions 0, I, II, III on the combination switch): 0, 0, 12, 0 V. That looks to be in order.
However on the N10: 1.11 (interval/fast wipe mode) I get: 0, 11,98, 0, 12 V. According to the information on for example ALLDATA electrical diagrams I would expect <6 V on the interval mode (switch in position I).
I did measure the resistance as well and I found (for the positions 0, I, II, III on the combination switch): inf., 1789 Ohms, inf., 0 Ohms.
Do you think the combination switch is not working or could it be the wiper relay (K26) or the combination relay (N10)?????? It seems strange that I get almost same reading on the input to terminal 1:11 on the N10 when I position the combination switch in interval mode (I) and fast mode (III).
Just recently I also had problems with the wiper not stopping when I moved the combination switch to 0, wipers just kept swiping.... However, right now they stop in correct position both when combination switch is in 0 or I (interval).
I could tell you that the car has not been used recently (for about a year) due to another problem, and these problems appeared when I started to use the car again. The car has been parked outdoor in Sweden (very cold in winter).
