can i put a 99E55 engine in a 99 S500 ??
I have a 99 S500 with a blown 119.980 engine. Instead of putting all the $$$ in building a new long block, was wondering if I could put an 99 E55 113.980 engine with its MATCHING ECM, with out any modifications??? Any help, advice or opinions is greatly appriciated!

MBWorld Fanatic!
I think you will need a beefy transmission, and rear end. Should fit nicely,if you can supply power, and hardware,go for it.
If it was me,I'd put it in a light chassis, like a c class

Thank u oldsinner111! I was thinking a c class too or my all time favorite W124 chassis. I remember the first time I drove a 93 400E! It was insane fast!! I can imagine how an AMG motor would do in there. Having a hard time finding MBZs with no engines. I also have a 95 E420 long block 119.975with GREAT compression and tranny to match it.

Oldsinner,..just wanna thank u again for ur input. I actually found a 119.980 in a pick n pull. Pulled long block, paid 160 us dollars for it. Gonna replace timing chain, all guides and all new gaskets, except for head gaskets. Still have my original 119.980 block and heads from 99 S500. Gonna rebuild original with new pistons and all. Gonna take a lil while. If u know of any mods or any info on after market mods or about porting intake and heads please feel free to share. I DEF. DON'T MIND MY s500 stock but since I'm starting from bare block, I figure if there is any possible mods with out going kidiwampus on it, I'd greatly appriciate it. E55 is gonna have to wait for a smaller MBZ chassis that had no sentimental value. ;-). Thanks again!
