Can the ADS shocks be changed to standard?

Can the ADS shocks be changed to standard? and Is it worth while and or possible to change the OEM adjustable shocks to aftermarket standard ones. NAPA sells a kit for changing over Lincolns. Top quality aftermarket shocks are usually far superior to OEM's (even MB) My 93 600SEL is geting a bit floaty boaty on the bumps.

What model and what year is your S? Do you mean the ADS? The ASR is the pre-ESP anti-slip system...

Have you ever replaced the (hydraulic accumulators) spheres. My 92 sel was getting bouncy, and my dealer suggested it was not the shocks. The diagnosis was correct one of the pheres had developed an interior leak. Mercedes shocks are much higher quality than, US stuff and are different in design. I believe you have a a switch that controls the damping action from soft to firm. MB still offers ADS, I have heard no issues
