C-5 in my rear view ....
I recently had a custom cat-back system with a free flow muffler installed on my 95'500 coupe. It sounds so sweet that I now have to take cruises just to get my "fix" of exhaust fumes. Well this morning on my saturday cruise I noticed a Corvette C-5 in my rear view. Sitting at the light, I read the passengers lips, "He's got pipes" he said. "Damn right, and I ain't afraid to use them", I said (to my self ). Anyway we're rolling along at about 35 mph or so and he slowly begins to pass me by. Suddenly he nails it, so I manually dropped down to second and nailed the "Big Coupe" and boy did she scream like a virgin on prom night !! I held 2nd gear to the redline then grabbed 3rd and I was dead on his ***! But for some reason (tall rear gear) 3rd gear turned my screaming virgin into a bored house wife fake-moaning her way through a routine friday night shagg. I watched as the C-5 slowly pulled away, quad tips and all. Then I thought to myself, I should'nt be mad, I should be
proud of the overwieght coupe for givin' that C-5 a little someting to think about... he's probably at home right now trying to squeeze more horses out of his engine to avoid another close call, ****, I know I am!! hmmm.. maybe a 3.07 rear gear. What do you guys think?

I had it done at local muffler shop. I did'nt see the logic in spending $1000.00 on an eisenmann. The system features stock diameter pipes (so as not to lose exhaust velocity) from the cats without the resonator and then on to a Goerlichs muffler. They market it as the XLerator. It has a two in, two out design and you can see right through it. It is kind of quiet for a straight-thru muffler, but when you hit it, it let's you know its there. The whole set-up cost around $300.00 for a full stainless mufller, two stainless tips and a lifetime warranty. Can't beat that with a bat, but maybe a C5 As for the power increase, to tell you the truth the car felt slower at first and I was pissed ! But after a few days it felt spunky again and I was able to spin the rear wheels a bit. It had never done that with the 275/35's before so there is for sure a power increase. But I'm not sure how much. No dynos in my area.

You think the ECU in the car was trying to figure out what changed before you felt the power increase? Hmm...300 bucks, not bad. PM me if you could, where midwest are you? I'm in IN.

Cool, so both of us with the S500C have never bumb into each other on the roads! LOL Must be very rare beasts here. I have never seen one except on the highway in MI a few years ago. And there was a white one on the Indy dealership. Gone now. What color is yours?

Mustang in My Rear!
I was driving my S500C (with Mods) on hwy 101S a few weeks ago and this guy with a Roush Mustang kept riding my bumper at 80mph. After the right lane was clear, he pulled next to me and we took off. I admit, he held up pretty well until I hit 140MPH. By the time I was at 155, I couldn't see him anymore. I then slowed into the right lane and he finally caught up. He never rode my bumper for the rest of the trip. I laughed my AZZ off. That's what he gets for thinking an old man was driving that tinted coupe. Never under estimate a Mercedes Benz!
