I am looking for a set of the carpets that came with the 1999 S500 Grand Edition. They cannot be had in the MB parts supply system.

Do you have a part number for the set? or a picture? ...I bet I can find a new set for you.

Here are a few shots of what they look like. Basically they have a black trim and only the fron carpets have the "Grand Edition" labels. Mercedes of Orange Park tried to find them in the Mercedes System and all they could come up with were the standard carpets.

Perfect pix...did all the Grand Editions come with these embroidered mats? Are they shown in a sales brochure perhaps? I don't know, those appear to be OE mats but with like mall hat shop embroidery done on it....if I can be honest with you.

PM me your VIN digits if you don't mind. I have a particularly good search engine (person) for hard to find OEM parts. It is really no trouble to double check and make some calls on this. Some dealer parts folks don't bother to go the extra mile if it doesn't show on the system; this guy will.

Could you consider it easier tho to buy an available new OE stock set and have an auto interior shop stitch on a proper logo? Or the link below for example: I have had excellent results in past 7 years. Sorta pricey but excellent end product and service.

All Grand Edition W140 cars came with those Matts. The dealer I bought the car from, North Jersey Auto Mall ( crooked dealer alert!!!) lied about sending the matts , among other details about the car, with the car when I bought it.


I will look into a custom set but I would rather have an original set, new or used in good condition.

Hi, sorry it took me so long...I tried but alas, its true, these are NLA..in fact the custom mats only came with the new cars themselves. It seems you couldn't even get them as a parts order when new according to Mike at the Robbinsville, NJ MB parts hub.

There are no special part numbers for the these special edition mats. This also goes for the 40th Anniversary SLs from 1997 which also have the custom stitching that I also inquired about... And the 40th Anniversary SL logos look even more like the mall hat kiosk did them. LOL

I think you'll be fine if you get a set of Lloyd's mats and have the vendor stitch the 'Grand Edition ' logo on it. ...if you must have it.

Lloyds can be found at http://lloydmats.com/ . They do high end well made mats but cannot do logos from the manufacturers due to licensing restrictions. Don't know if Grand Edition is trademarked or not but you can certainly ask.
