w140 bose amplifier - head unit
here we go again. i had the pooping/crackling speakers in my s500 - did plenty of research on this board and determined that it was the amp with bad capacitors. sent the amp in and had 110 capacitors replaced in it...still have the same problem. is the ANYTHING else (head unit, fader, etc. that could be causing this) - it is getting to be ridiculous with no stereo for the last 4 months. thanks in advance!

Just replaced my head unit with an ordinary Blaupunkt BPV-650 cd/tuner. I dont know how the stereo shop did it, but they got all the speakers except for the one behind the rear view mirror working. Everything sounds fine to me.
Id just replace the head unit if I were you to save you all the trouble (and expense) of getting the stock head unit and bose amp fixed. For the price of getting your head unit and bose amp fixed, you could get a nice aftermarket headunit and amplifier.
