Airbag Warning Alarm?
1997 S 600: My car has an excruciating alarm noise going off stead high pitched noise that I think is an airbag alarm -- I remove fuse 15 and it goes away (along with my signal lights and some other things). I live 200 miles from the hearest MB dealer and would appreciate a tip on fixing this, getting rid of it, or in any way allowing me to drive the car safely to the dealer. The only hints I can give is it went on as I was driving and there are no idiot lights on.....I thought it migth be the radio station testing its warning for a nuclear attack, which is how I guessed the right fuse.....

BAD RADIO: I spoke with a technician at 800-for-mercedes who thought it might be a bad radio and suggested I pull the hot wire to the radio. ANyone know how to pull the radio out? I can't seem to get the wire off.... THanks

FOUND THE ANSWER: It was the MB phone. Got frustrated with getting nowhere and finally just started pulling fuses one at a time in the trunk first -- 1 Becker rep. said it might be the amplifier. Phone fuse stopped the noise.
Good for you , like to hear ppl. finding their own answers and saving money.
