Request to date this scale model

My brother and I are India's largest collectors of scale model automobiles, since 1996. Our collection, Autofest City, is based in two exclusive buildings adjacent to our home at Mysore, South India. We specialize in representing the history and development of all leading international marques such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Porsche, Volkswagen, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Ford. We have a very detailed collection of Mercedes-Benz cars to which one of the buildings is dedicated.

Recently we added a scale 18 model replica of the W140 V12 manufactured by Norev, to our collection. This was labelled as a dealer edition. The car was not dated by the scale model manufacturer. The features are also very peculiar. It has:
a) a two-tone paint scheme, typical of 1st generation cars BUT
b) 2nd gen rear lights
c) 2nd gen reversing sensors
d) 2nd gen external rear-view mirrors.

I have read through a number of websites and finally it was only Wikipedia that could shed some light. They indicate that there were W140 upgrades in 1994 with all the features of the Phase II cars. However, it was only in 1995 that the paint-scheme changed to a single-colour, with the mid-year facelift (Phase II).

I am enclosing a photograph of the scale model. If someone would please date it, we would be much obliged.
Thank you.

The wheels would suggest it is a 1995-96 model IMHO!

I would go with 1996. Reason being is due to the Parktronic. Since the system was not officially perfected until early/mid 1996, the highest spec 1995 models would still only have the parking aerials by the rear trunk.

If this were North America, Parktronic was not available until 1997 models, but since it is assumed to be a Euro specification, it would be possible to get a 1996 model with clear lenses, two-tone paint, and parktronic from the factory

He is correct. Another thing to look at is the interior. If the climate control stack is upgraded to the later model style from the earlier generation buttons, it would make it a 1996.
