1995 S500 1968 280SL
1995 S500 no reverse - is this common?
I have a 1995 S500 - at about 97k the reverse simply stopped working, all other gears work. ONly option was to replace tranny, lack of money stored car for several years. Just had used tranny not rebuilt installed, less than 500 miles, same problem. Is this common this model? Car is otherwise excellent, 98,000 miles. Fix or will this keep happening?

Not common if the transmission is serviced properly, what was the service history of the replacement trans?

mercedes trans give you a warning when reverse goes,to rebuild or replace trans.
