S500: 18 Magnets for crankshaft position sensor (CKP) not recognized

Hi,

I have an s500 1995. The car worked properly until I hade it put in the garage for 3 years without anyone driving it. After 3 years I changed the battery (since it was discharged) and got it working I started seeing some issues: car hesitation, misfiring and problem starting the car when the car is warm. I built a small circuit to read out the error codes, and one of the codes I get is this:

On pin 17 - Code 18 Magnets for crankshaft position sensor (CKP) not recognized

Anyone that has had similar issues? What is the first step in fixing this? Do I need to replace the whole flywheel or can some kind of cleaning solve this issue? Any help is appreciated!
