I have an s500 1995. The car worked properly until I hade it put in the garage for 3 years without anyone driving it. After 3 years I changed the battery (since it was discharged) and got it working I started seeing some issues: car hesitation, misfiring and problem starting the car when the car is warm. I built a small circuit to read out the error codes, and one of the codes I get is this:

On pin 17 - Code 18 Magnets for crankshaft position sensor (CKP) not recognized
Anyone that has had similar issues? What is the first step in fixing this? Do I need to replace the whole flywheel or can some kind of cleaning solve this issue? Any help is appreciated!MBWorld Fanatic!

wiring harness OK? Has the car run long enough to dry everything out?
