hard starting. engine running rough and/or surging at idle 15/96-3 GROUP 07 - ENGINES Mlll. M104. M119 AND M120: For conditions of hard starting. engine running rough and/or surging at idle; we have found the cause to be internal leakage of the fuel pressure regulator. part no. 000 078 15 89 (Brumme) production code 06.95 and 12.95, through the membrane. To remedy this condition, replace the fuel pressure regulator with part no. 000 078 18 89 (Bosch). For warranty processing use Damage Code 0726204.

I looked at mine, a late 96 car, and the presure regulator was the 'bad' part number, but the date stamp was out of the range. To accesss - remove air filter complete and its at the back right hand side as you look at teh engine, its about 1.5" diameter and silver at the top of the engine on the fuel rail

24/96-5 GROUP 54 - MODEL 140 PARKTRONIC. IMPLAUSIBLE OPERATION: Customers may complain of unusual operation of the Parktronic system while standing still. such as implausible bargraph display or warning tone. This can occur when stopped at traffic signals. at fuel filling stations, or near construction zones (air jackhammer noise).
and can also occur near other Parktronic-equipped vehicles. This is caused by undesired vibration of the sensors in the front bumper. a harmonic 'tuning fork effect' . To help resolve this condition. install a silicone vibration dampening ring (Part No. 140 546 0079) between the spring washer and the hold-down nut. Note that the majority of USA vehicles have the silicone ring installed in production.

26/96-5 GROUP 54 - MODEL 140, FUEL GAUGE JUMPS WITH LESS THAN 1/4 TANK: In the chassis number range from A216428 to A290165 (MY 1996) and A290167 to approx 6/96 production (MY 1997). the fuel gauge indicator may jump. swing or indicate incorrectly. when driving with less than 1/4 tank of fuel, especially in curves. In these cases, the instrument cluster should be replaced. The latest version cluster is marked with a version code label "K18" or higher. Please use damage code 54208 73 for this repair.

30/97-2 GROUP 80 - W140, PSE PUMP: Should you encounter an
inoperative orthopedic seat or trunk handle, please check the small
diameter plastic connection for the vacuum supply which may have
broken. To repair this condition, install hose, part no. 117 078 06 81, and
secure with two hose clamps. Do not exchange the entire PSE pump.

<This part is just a small rubber tube>
