Engine temperature of s600 about...
Good day.
Have a nice chat everyone.
l have 98 S600L (apr. 110.000 km). Its very successfull tool in terms of technology (about 90s) and ergonomics. In addition, the engineers paid attention to detail at many points on car.
But also, the engine (m120) area is too hot. The engine is usually around at 90~100C degrees (start at 97C degree for cooling). Not any problems at there but l think about it would be better to lower the temperature a bit more. At the regions of cold winter conditions (specially northern countries), this situation may be helpful for engine health. But otherelse, at the hot regions that its bad.
So, l thought what can l do to reduce the heating a little less and l thought of an idea;
l marked the place on the picture at below. There is hot air above the engine (this is the dead zone because the no escape for hot air). If like a window opens to the area l marked, the hot air can be evacuated from here.
Secondly, l attached other picture at below. The hot air from window we opened ll be transferred out of the panel. An air flow tunnel ll be built under the panel by a light material. A window ll open the evacuate the air to the red square are on the panel.
Finally, we ll evacuate this hot air from the engine through the grille at the hood.
There should be no escape of the hot air. So;
* from the first window to be opened to the air tunnel to be built under the plastic cover,
* from this air tunnel to the plastic cover,
* from plastic cover to hood grille,
a good insulation should also be made so that the hot air does not escape from the at that process.
My idea is to lower the engine temperature a little more. Please note that lm taking an unprofessional approach.
At that issue some parts ll lose their originality in the progress. Therefore, l ll keep these parts like spares. Firstly, l can find the under grille plastic and other plastic cover parts.
lm curious about your thoughts on this subject. Also, you may have different opinions, l would like to see them too.
Maybe that this or similar situations ll be usefull to s600 owners.
Thanks for your interest and stay healthy.
Best regards...

I can assure you, you will not change the engine temps in a noticeable manner by messing with the engineered airflow through the engine bay.
