light vibration W140 S500
#1
My 1997 S500 has vibration between 50-75 mph
I am experiencing some vibration with my S500 that starts at around 50mph and gets stronger at 60-70 mph and at around 75mph its is hardly noticeable.
I had my tires rebalanced twice and then replaced all 4 tires and nothing has changed, Its not the brake rotors as it does not happen during braking. I also
had the front wheel bearings replaced and installed all ceramic brake pads. The steering wheel does not shake when it vibrates.

I have nearly identical symptoms in my 95 S600. The only visually failed suspension components I could see where the right UCA ball joint and both sway bar link ball joints, but replacing both sway bar links as well as the whole right UCA didn’t solve the problem.
I understand this is a common problem with the W140 chasis, and have heard equally as many ideas about what the culprit is, including (in my humble opinion) bad ones such as the steering damper suggested in this post.
