Please help. How can I rest the SRS light on W140?

Hi everyone!
I had to paint the steering wheel on my 1998 S320, so I disconnected the battery then removed the airbag and steering wheel, After the paint dried, I reinstalled everything making sure that the wires are connected and all. When I connected the battery, I noticed that the SRS light came and stayed on. Is this supposed to happen? How do I get the SRS light to turn off? Thank you.

Hi, How did you solve it ? It happened the same thing with my 97 S320 when I replaced the steering wheel. I have the obd1 code reader and used on 38 pin port but it didn’t show any fault codes stored on pin 30 (airbag system) so I can’t reset anything…
