Where is the stuff on v12uberalles site that Brett wrote?
I’ve seen like a 1000 references to v12uberalles as being the end all for any problems with W140 closing assist and a number of other issues.
The site is down.
Did anyone migrate the v12uberalles content over to this site? If so where can I find them?
Does anyone have Brett’s write up posted in its own thread here?
Thanks,
M
Some of the content from www.v12uberalles.com can be found that the wayback machine, like this snapshot from Jan 2010:

Most of the images are missing, though.

This is pcmaher (Pete). Many years ago, back in 2005, I created a website called V12UberAlles that documented my experiences with my beautiful 1995 S600 W140. When it needed maintenance, I documented the steps I took as best I could, and published the articles onto my site V12UberAlles to share with those that needed it. Much to my surprise, it got popular and became a Go-To source for many MB owners. Other W140 owners would contact me and share their repair articles with me. Credit was naturally given to them for their work. V12UberAlles became a great collection of DIY articles. Although the site was popular and many used the info in it, I could no longer devote the time or money needed to keep it up and running. The last straw was the numerous hacks into the website that caused all sorts of mayhem. I decided it was time to hang it up.
Well, fast-forward to today. I happened across many posts on the internet asking what happened to V12UberAlles. I was surprised to learn that many people were looking for info on my website. I also saw that attempts were made to migrate what people could find to new websites, but those seem to have failed. Since I still had all the old articles, I decided to resurrect them. And so here we are, V12UberAlles is back! I’m recreating the material into PPT format, converting them to mp4’s, and posting them onto YouTube. Look for Half-Assed Restorations videos. There are a few articles posted, and I will convert and upload more articles as time allows. I also have a new webpage, www.halfassedrestorations.com that is devoted to 1980’s motorcycles and scooters (if the articles help you out, do me a favor and buy some Half-Assed Merchandise). I will eventually convert the old articles and post them on halfassedrestorations.com soon. So sit back, grab a bevvy, and read to your hearts' content.
Hoping that all my old friends are still around and that I hear from you.

Your site was a tremendous help in the 90s - W140 days 25yrs ago.
Hope all good with you - Cheers.

It is a 1991 example, with very low VIN, Italian origin, in my hands since 2006 and runs great till today (end 2024), although has never been used by myself as a daily...
Maybe the photo can be also used in the new site. As is a solid recognition and a souvenir, in the end : )
