I bought a 99 S420 with a problem that seems to be getting bigger. The previous owner reports the key won't turn, but is removable. My first thought was buy a new key from MB as worn keys often cause this problem, the dealer says a new key for my car's VIN is no longer available. What is the best (cheapest,easiest) way to deal with this problem (If I have a choice)?

One of my mother's S600's needs a new key. There is no solution at this time--MB Classic says keys are NLA.
