What makes the W140 so good?
Why is the W140 such a revered S-Class? How is it noticeable? Is it a product of its time period, or is it something timeless?

Overall feel of the vehicle, last of the MB S-Class before the technology takeover during the W220, durability and reliability, restrained/classic MB styling, ..... The W220 is a nice E-Class. The W140 is a nice S-Class.

With the W220, I feel if Mercedes had made the appropriate investments in quality and testing, along with the technology, the W220 would have gone down in history as one of the greatest cars ever made.
