BLOWER ISSUES

I am having a bit of trouble with my blower and am hoping someone may have some insight.

I have gone through a couple of the resistors, new blower motor , had the wiring traced for shorts and damage, contacts cleaned, etc.

the last two days the speed won’t respond through the buttons, and it won’t shut off until I turn the car off, and open the door , and occasionally even then it takes a second .

im thinking it’s the controls at this point, does anyone else have some insight?

Did you disconnect the battery when replacing the blower resistor? I stupidly forgot that one time and the whole blower started acting crazy for a while before I realized how dumb of a mistake I made.

So, had all the vacuum lines replaced, new resistor, new blower, new head unit, it still fades out until it stops after it rains..any insight at all?

It's possible that the new resistor is bad. Try another one. I've gone through quite a few of them.

i ended up getting a new resistor as well, it did fix it, but I go through them quite a bit…any reason in particular you think? I can’t imagine going through them at this rate new..

Honestly, I've wondered the same, and I suspect that the overall insulation of that area has become brittle and lets in some moisture over time.
