500 sel speaker set up
I have a 92 500 sel that I would like to replace the factory speaker setup.
Does anyone know the size of the speakers in my car (frt doors, rear doors,
rear deck etc.)? I understand that the car has a factory amp set up. My friend has a car stereo installation shop and he is going to replace the entire system with an aftermarket set up (MB Quart).

I hope he is a good friend, the install is basicly a two piece radio. The control is in the front, the tuner is in the trunk at the base if the rear wheel and the amp is over the rear wheel. If you have the CD data is routed from the front, thru the CD and back into the tuner with a large din cable. The Amp is seven channels feeding eleven speakers, Two in each front door, one in each back door, two in parallell (2ohm) on each side in the back deck, and one behind the rear view mirror. The ones in the front door are in ported enclosures, the two on the dash do nothing and were for the CElTEL. There ia also a fader switch located on the console. Print this out and give to your friend, and let him mull over it, if he has never done a early 140 it will be a lifetime experience.
