2004 Facelift lightings package
I have posted this on the other forum, just want to get as many opinions as possible...
This package includes:
1. 1 pair of 2004 bi-xenon headlights, modified so that no adaptor is need -- just plug and play (auto-leveling will still be functional!!)
2. 1 pair of LED tail light
3. 1 pair of clear turning indicator lights on the mirrors (specially made for 00 to 03 models so that no modification is needed)
The company is asking for $2000 USD plus shipping...is this a good deal?

I phoned him about the auction, and he said the price for the whole package is $55000 NT (NOT including installation - which is contradicting to the description on his listing...and the $35000 starting bid doesn't mean anything...). Anyways, just to let you guys know that many seller on Yahoo Taiwan use the auction service as a mean to advertise their products, the price up there CAN be different than the actual price
for those of you who don't understand Chinese, here's the guy's phone number, but I doubt that he speaks English 0913618050...

Hey guys, you know what, I just found out from my service representative that he has a customer who got his 03 headlights from Taiwan for less than $1000...furthermore, they let you choose the color of the projector lens!!! You can actually choose green, blue...etc, but the lights are still white.

Avoid it, the light quality is probably at best arounb 25% of the OEM bi-xenon. The headlight set is made by Depo, and they make their own projector lens (VERY VERY important factor), instead of using reputable lens like Valeo (used in OEM headlight) or Hella.
The lens in the projector headlight is as important as lens in the camera: it dictates how much light is going throught, and how are they being distributed. In term of light quality, Depo lens probably rank 2/10, and Valeo is 9/10 (Stanley makes best lens). A bottom of Coke bottle will rank 1/10. Well, you get an idea
Several people have done similar upgrade on the W210 model, and now are completely miserable (except those who upgrade the projector lens to Hella).
Search for "Depo headlight" on the W210, you'll know what I mean.
If you can, get a set of OEM headlight, by all mean, if you plan to spend more than $500 on light upgrade, avoid Depo. If you go w/ the Depo one, you MUST upgrade the lens, or the whole projector, otherwise, the light output will be crapp (seen light output on ricer projector, Civic, Acura.., that's how it looks)
For that much money ($2K), you could probably get an OEM set from SteveNL.
