For those considering POWERCHIP!

I had there ecu tuning on my S500 and just had it removed by them yesterday in preperation for the HPS gen II being installed this monday.
(HPS says it isn't compatible w/there system)
Anyway I'm writing this to inform anybody contemplating Powerchip????
It DEFINITELY MAKES A DIFFERENCE EVEN ON A NON-ASPIRATED MOTOR!!!!
I couldn't believe what a PIG it felt like on the way home after they returned it to stock oem settings the lacking throttle response is the most noticable especialy at highway speeds when over taking other cars..... It's still fast for a sedan but Powerchip is a really nice improvement, I say it's 100% worth the money...
I'll be taking plenty of picks of new system next week hopefully get it back by Friday Aug 5th.....Before HPS :v and then after HPS IMPLANTS =

Im not going to say there stuff does now work but the way your talking you sound like you can feel the differnce. You might be able to but 27hp at the most you will not feel in the seat of the pants. as for the torque i personally dont think you can feel 40lbtq either.

not trying to make you mad or anything but i just dont see how you can feel or notice any difference in performace with such a little gane and the weight of the car.

Dude, you will feel 40lb-ft torque, same with the 27hp. That's a lot of power on an S500.

The S500 has what.. 302hp?
27 hp is almost 10%!

But in the end though, it's not all about just the hp and torque, it's also about the remapped shifting and what not. Just like how the <MY2004 X5 4.4i feels faster then the >MY2004 X5 4.4i even though the latter has a more powerful engine.

Thanks I will definately give that powerchip a try. I have always thought that those things didn't work, but 27hp and 40lbs is a substantial gain. Thanks for the recommendation.

Hey no prob....I think it is allways good to question things....And Rickyagrawal is right! also I think the main seat of the pants difference you will get out of Powerchip off the line Besides the extra torque, is the improved throttle response they program your car to spray more fuel on hard acceleration giving a very noticable UMPHHH!!!for your money I just w/they could tune my car after HPS goes on They also told me when I was leaving that they might be able to knock the top speed limiter out!!!I can still get this part of their tuning w/hps, So I'll keep you guys updated if they can do it I'll have it done...

If I remember correctly about 1,000. bucks.....I know it's not cheap but if you don't have the money for a major mod like turbo, or SC, then it's well worth the money in my opinion..go check out their site or give'm a call to disscuss what they can do for you...If you get a dyno ie fuel air mixture charts data ect...they can probably make a 1 off program for your car....

I just sent them an email asking if they can reprogram my euro S 500. Just to confirm, do they remove the top speed limiter or not? I really want it removed!

Thanks,
Charles
