I have a 2000 s500 with the older style rear lights. I have the opportunity to purchase the newer style rear lights at a fantastic price. I really like the newer style lights and would love to install them on my vechile. Can anyone help me with this question. " ARE THE WIRING HARNESS ON A 2000 THE SAME AS LETS SAY A 2002 OR 2003 OR 2004, AND WHAT OTHER, IF ANY TYPE OF MODIFICATIONS AM I GOING TO HAVE TO EXPECT. " I hope some one there has done this before and can give me alittle insight and advise.

Thanks alot,
Gerry

The rear lights would work. However I really really recommend a professional installation for both the front and rear lights. I recently had my lights installed by MBENZNL.com the master himself Steve Krabbenborg who is very visible and highly recommended on this site.. COntact him and you can
get actual Mercedes Benz parts installed I would not go with any other lights.. even if you save a few hundred. IN the long run you will save..

I have replaced front head, rear tail and side mirror lights myself for about 2K...for parts. The tail light is very easy to install.. They should be plug'nplay, mine were. all you have to do is unscrew and remove 1 nut post from the new set of lights.. The orig lights have a 4 post mount ... The new updated ones have 3. A safe always will be MBENZNL Steve Krabbenborg .. He is the man.. best of luck.
