Question 2001/2002 S430 differences?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find anything after doing some searches. I'm buying a 2001 S430 for my folks and I just wanted to know the differences between the 2 years. Thanks.

In Canada, the differences are:

1. CD Changer now included
2. Infrared reflecting windows now standard not an option

Very minor changes from the 2001 to 2002. Like one touch side mirrors and other stuff. Very very minor stuff.

Pick either 2001 or 2002, stay away from the 2000..

I agree, stay away from MY2000 S-Classes. We had a 2000 S500 and the car was just non-stop problems. It was like waking up and trying to think about what the new problem of the day would be. To make a long story short, the dealer took the car back after 10 months and we got a 2001 S500... no major problems at all, just one minor problem with the right front window, and that was fixed.

Definetly stay away from first year models if you can.

I can just imagine how many problems there will be on the new W209 CLK at first.

100% agree. I checked out the Mercedesproblems.com site and i was amazed at all the problems that owners had with their 2000 S 430's. True 1st year models are a hassle, even the new SL 500 has had so many problems.
