Then I'll give you my two cents. I don't think there's a point south option. There is only point north (or actually, up) and fixed map (arrow moves in different directions). When navigation is activated and you're looking at a map, scroll down the where you'll see a little icon (either an arrow or the letter "N", I think, don't remember entirely). It should toggle over to the other type.

ok when i look at the map as im driving forward the arrow is facing south and moving south. what im asking is if there is any way to have the arrow facing and moving in the direction that I am moving (like it did on my old pioneer n1).

Your options are to have the map oriented so that the direction your car is traveling is toward the top of the Nav screen (the map changes as your car location arrow remains pointed to the top of the screen; the map rotates as you turn); or to set it so that north on the map is always toward the top of the screen (the map orientation remains the same and the car location arrow rotates as you turn). There are no other choices.
With the map displayed, you will have a small dialog box displayed at the lower left of the scren. Select this box - it expands. Scroll down to the bottom (a compass) - this is where you choose the option.
If your map is oriented south when it should be oriented north, there is a malfunction.
If you have a COMAND manual, you will find your experience much better if you read it. If you don't, you should order one - or try to download one from Paul's website at http://home.earthlink.net/~phdwebsite/comand_manual.htm
