S Class Tire Size

I have a tire size question for the w220. Has anyone tried running 45 series in front & 40 series tires in back on 19" wheels? I know most wheel stores suggest 40 in front & 35 in back on 19" staggered wheels. I would like to get the taller tires for comfort.

Not really recommended to stray far from factory tire heights. Have you tried the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's in the proper size?

I'll second both of those.

Nah....stick with the 40s for the front and 35s for the back on 19" wheels...I run that very same setup on Pirelli P-Zero Assimetricos and the ride is great.

The Michelin's are great, but I run 245/45WR-18 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 XL, front, and 275/40YR-18 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3, back, and I cannot recommend them more highly. In fact, I wanted the PS2's, but Luke at TTR talked me into trying the F1's and I am very glad that he did. Fantastic tires on all deminsions.

Just something else for you to consider...

Jury's in with the verdict on the Goodyears -- people really like 'em. I should be able to put a set on a couple of my cars here in the next couple of months to give them a try. I'll weigh in with my personal experience with them when I have them on.....
