Chopping those resonators

Numerous guys over at the C55 and E55 forums have had theirs cut, so I'm thinking about it too.

Here's the skinny, I treasure the little low-end torque I have. I heard that cutting them and replacing it with straight pipes will cost some low end torque while gaining higher end horsepower and not to mention, a throatier sound.

Any w220 guys have had theirs done? How much low end torque would it cost? A little? Enough that you can feel the difference?

I've also considered X pipe, but you would have to custom fab that right?

I don't have a jack, so I've never looked under. I would appreciate it if someone posted a pic of the underside of a w220.
